Rabbit tooth wear and the benefits of roots
Roots are a great toy for natural tooth wear, or you can place them in tunnels or throw them in the hay and watch your rabbits in their natural foraging behavior. Discover the benefits of roots!!! Wild rabbits really enjoy roots like dandelion, chicory, and jerusalem artichoke. They spend the majority of their time looking for food and roots are a staple in their diet. Our domestic rabbits have lost this ability as they solely depend on us for food. It is worth including roots in your rabbit's daily diet as it will stimulate the rabbit to look for food as well as provide them with important nutrients. Dandelion root stimulates the secretory functions of the stomach and liver, improves metabolism, regulates good intestinal microflora, contains dietary fiber inulin, which also lowers blood sugar levels. The majority of rabbits go crazy for dandelion roots. All of these examples can help with the natural wear of the teeth, but also provide a lot of pleasure.
